How can I improve my Tachiyomi performance? ›

Update Tachiyomi: Make sure you have the latest version of Tachiyomi installed on your device. Developers often release updates to improve performance and fix bugs. Optimize Your Device: Keep your Android device running smoothly by clearing cache and freeing up storage space.

Sources being slow could stem from site slowness, your internet, or source-imposed rate limits/IP bans.

The app's default behavior is to skip updates for entries that meet the following criteria: Have unread chapters. Haven't been initiated. Carry a "Completed" status.

Via TorrentFreak, Kakao first contacted Tachiyomi on Jan. 2, 2024, and after rounds of discussions, Tachiyomi agreed to comply with numerous requests to remove pirated extensions. Kakao appeared to later switch tack, labeling "unauthorized manhwa apps like Tachiyomi" a virus risk on social media.

Is Tachiyomi safe? Tachiyomi is a completely safe app. Its APK produces no positives in VirusTotal reports. The app is also open-source, and its code can be inspected on its GitHub page.

Tachiyomi is open source, about as safe as you can get, just make sure to download from the official source and not a sketchy website.

Migration guide ​

Go to Overflow and tap Migrate. Tachiyomi will do a global search of all the sources you have installed and enabled. Select the Source that you'd like to migrate to by tapping the Series thumbnail. Choose which data you want to transfer over, and you're done.

Tachiyomi J2K: Best one IMO, has more features than base, as well as a better UI. Tachiyomi Neko: Based on regular Tachiyomi, not worth it IMO since it only has MangaDex. TachiyomiAZ: Focused mostly on NSFW content, with features taken off base and J2K. Has its own UI different from the other apps.
